Insurance and Medical
Health Insurance - Barr Systems pays for 90% of the employee's portion of the health insurance premium and 25% of the additional premium for dependant coverage. Employees pay for their portion of the premiums through payroll deduction before Federal income or social security taxes are withheld. This means that you will pay less tax and have more money to spend and save. Our Premium Pay Plan is required by Section 125 of IRS Tax Code to qualify for pretax treatment of premiums
Medical Reimbursement Plan - We have a generous plan to help with medical expenses that are not covered by our group health insurance. The company contributes $1,751.36 per year to a Medical Reimbursement Plan for each full-time employee. You can use it for medical expenses or let it accrue.
Medical Flexible Spending Account - Section 125 of the IRS code permits employers to establish Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) that offer employees favorable tax treatment for the reimbursement of eligible medical expenses. The Medical Flexible Spending Account may be used to pay for medical expenses that participants incur for themselves, their spouses and their dependants.
Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account - The Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account may be used to pay for custodial or child care expenses that participants incur for care of their dependent(s) while participants and their spouses are at work. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) offer employees favorable tax treatment for the reimbursement of eligible dependent daycare expenses.
Life Insurance - Life insurance premiums are paid by company. The benefit is equal to your annual salary, up to a maximum benefit of $100,000.
Long Term Disability Insurance - Company pays long Term Disability Insurance premiums. The insurance will provide for 60% of your monthly salary.
Dental Insurance - Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO dental insurance is available. The premium is employee funded.
Vacation/Sick Leave - There are 26 paid leave days per year to be used for vacation or sickness.
Holidays - There are six paid holidays per year.
Flexible Work Hours - Employees in most positions can set their own work hours.
Family Leave - An employee who has been with the company at least one year is eligible to take up to 12 weeks leave for medical or family care reasons. The company continues to provide health care coverage during the leave time.
Mentoring Leave - Barr Systems is a Business Partner of Rawlings Elementary School. We encourage our employees to volunteer their time at Rawlings and to support this, employees may use up to one hour per week of leave in order to mentor, tutor or volunteer at Rawlings.
Compensation for Employee Charitable Contributions - The Company compensates 50% of employee contributions to qualified charities.
401(k) Plan - The Company sponsors an employee-paid 401(k) plan through SunTrust Bank.
Continuing Education - Employee's skills are broadened and updated by attending seminars and classes on company time and expense.
Tuition Plan - Tuition reimbursement for some upper level college courses is available to full-time employees if relevant to the employee's job.
Employee Assistance Program - Programs support the health and financial security of employees.
Employee Services - Many services are offered to make our employees' personal life easier. Services include complimentary soft drinks, on-site car wash, mailing personal packages and many more.
Employee Wellness - Programs support the health and financial security of employees.
Health Club Reimbursement - Employees are reimbursed for 70% for the cost of an individual or family membership in a health club or fitness center up to $300 per calendar year.
