Barr Fills the Print Management Gap for National Insurance Provider
Situation:
A leading insurance provider needed a product that would gather print data from their IBM mainframe into one central location, then output it to their COLD storage systems. On the strong recommendation of a large national grocery chain, they discovered Barr — a vendor who could not only supply the product, but who could also provide installation and continued support throughout the implementation process.
Solution:
Barr Professional Services engineers preconfigured two workstations, then traveled to the company’s site to install the Barr Enterprise Print Server. The Server now functions as the bridge between their mainframe and their COLD storage systems, giving them the connectivity and transformation functionality they need. But most importantly, Barr’s service professionals were able to get them up and running with a minimum of downtime.
The company's Operations Technical Analyst, who worked closely with Barr's support team on their systems integration, was particularly impressed with the level of service given by Barr's support staff - by phone, in person, and online via the BarrCentral Web site.
Response:
In the words of their Project Manager, "I'm very happy with our decision to go Barr! Barr's Print Spooler was definitely more cost efficient than any alternative. In fact, no others were even considered after reviewing the Barr product."
